I used to oscillate between light systems that were narrative focused, such as Fate, and crunchy systems like D&D that were tactical, and was never really happy with either. Daggerheart is the perfect blend of the two extremes: simple enough to teach to players easily and make characters from start to finish is the first 25 minutes of a session zero, but mechanically deep enough to really engage and get deep into it. I especially like the way it supports mechanics for exploration, environments, and other stuff that D&D handwaves to its detriment. I LOVE the idea of campaign frames, and the included ones are super evocative and inspiring. The art and layout of the book itself is gorgeous and easy to parse, as are the cards. My delivery also showed up extremely quickly, despite a partial postal strike. I'd give it 10 out of 5 stars if I could - this TTRPG feels like it was made for me personally!
